The variegated foliage develops rich red, burgundy, green, and cream tones, with heavy banding and layered color that becomes more dramatic as the plant matures in strong light. This is one of those hybrids that has size, color, and structure all working together.

The broad, arching, black-spined leaves carry a central cream to hot pink/scarlet stripe in strong light, with dark red punctation and cross-banding layered through the foliage. A large Skotak hybrid with serious collector appeal, ‘Eye Candy’ matures to approximately 27.5 inches across in an open rosette. The broad, arching leaves can reach around 3 inches wide, with white margins and heavy blood-red cross-banding that shows on both the top and underside of the foliage.
This hybrid came from a unique, imperfectly variegated plant in a 2009 Skotak grex that later produced/sported two standout cultivars: Neo. ‘Eye Candy’ and Neo. ‘Freak Out’. ‘Eye Candy’ carries the bold edged look, while ‘Freak Out’ is known for its median striping.
