Grower’s Note

The albomarginated form of ‘Black Opal’ gives this large Skotak hybrid a crisp, white-edged look. Mature plants can reach approximately 31 inches across, forming an open rosette with green foliage, pale margins, and heavy dark cross-banding.

Compared to the variegated form, this version has a cleaner margin pattern while still carrying the bold scale and dark Skotak-style markings from its Tiger-heavy parentage. You will rarely see ‘Black Opal’ offered in the U.S., and mature plants are even harder to find.

Seed parent: carolinae x Skotak’s Tiger
Pollen parent: Skotak’s Tiger

The first photo is an example of the plant. The other photos show a mature plant SIMILAR to plant being sold.

We grow both the albomarginated and variegated versions of Neo. ‘Black Opal’, so check our site for the variegated version when available.
