This bromeliad can tolerate quite a bit of morning and afternoon sun, but I recommend protecting from the more intense midday sun. Of course, dappled sun/shade is perfect too.
Keep FRESH water in the center cup of the bromeliad. The substrate should drain REALLY WELL. I recommend using bark or mulch ONLY…no soil! In nature, this plant is an epiphyte. These do REALLY WELL mounted on the side of a tree, or on a piece of driftwood, on a rock, etc.
