Grower’s Note
One of Chester Skotak’s standout hybrids, and a favorite among serious Neo collectors. The leaves are stiff and mid-green with black spines, striped down the center in creamy white, then splashed and spotted blood red the more light it gets. You’ll also see faint cross-banding through the foliage. It’s in the Tricolor Group, originated in Costa Rica, from the cross (carolinae variegated × Hannibal Lecter) × Norman Bates, crossed with Rainbow Carcharodon.
This is a big one — a mature plant can open up to roughly 31″ wide and 16″ tall. That said, I grow this one hard: strong sun and no fertilizer. Grown that way it stays more compact and the color comes in much stronger. Bright filtered-to-direct light with good airflow is the way to go — the more light it takes (without burning), the more red spotting and contrast you’ll pull out.
📷 First photo is a mature example. The rest are the actual pup you’ll receive — healthy, nicely variegated, and already throwing the markings this one is known for.
