A standout Skotak hybrid with an open rosette form, reaching approximately 24 inches across at maturity. This plant develops very stiff, broad leaves with a tight, structured shape and bold mid-green coloring.
In strong light, the white margins flush heavily with crimson-red, creating a dramatic outlined effect, while red cross-banding adds even more contrast through the leaves.

Bold, highly patterned, and unmistakably Skotak, Neoregelia ‘Paladin’ is a large-growing collector hybrid from Costa Rica reaching up to 35″ across. Its broad mid-green leaves are marked with striking cream variegation and dense red-purple punctated cross-banding, giving the plant a dramatic painted look even before maturity.
At bloom, it does not develop a cup flush, keeping the focus on its bold leaf pattern and clean tricolor form.

A large Skotak hybrid with dramatic median variegation and the kind of bold pattern collectors look for in the best Tiger-line plants. ‘Freak Out’ matures to approximately 27.5 inches across, forming an open rosette with broad, arching dark green leaves up to about 3 inches wide.
The foliage carries wide creamy white center striping, with heavy blood-red cross-banding showing on both the upper and lower sides of the leaves. The overall effect is loud, graphic, and unmistakably Skotak.
This cultivar came from an imperfectly variegated rosette in a 2009 Skotak grex, which later produced/sported two named cultivars: Neo. ‘Freak Out’ and Neo. ‘Eye Candy’. ‘Freak Out’ is the median-striped form, while ‘Eye Candy’ is the marginated form. We grow both, so check our site for Neo. ‘Eye Candy’ when available.

A large Skotak hybrid with a wide, open rosette and serious collector presence. ‘Black Opal’ matures to approximately 31 inches across, with strong Skotak’s Tiger influence showing in the dark cross-banding, patterned foliage, and dramatic structure.
The variegated version brings that stunning dark color to the leaves, with striping and contrast that continue to develop as the plant sizes up. This is not a hybrid you commonly find available in the U.S. — especially as a mature plant.
